FAQ's

How long do voucher last  ?
We don't have cut off times, however it is recommended that you purchase your products at the same time, this will save money on carriage and ensure continuity of the products. We don't swap and change product or suppliers very often but products can vary due to the hand forged design.

Can you alter a product?
Yes,  this can be done with some products but it's best to check first as we may have the design you are looking for off the shelf. This cuts down costs and delivery times.

I can't find a product ?

No problem, just enter a word / part of the product name or part number in the search box. Should this fail just give us a call on the low call rate number.

I live abroad, How can I place an order?
We accept orders from all destinations, Enter the order details and we will contact you by email with the delivery and insurance costs, Or phone us between 9am ~ 5pm UK time to place your order.

Are your prices the same if I order over the phone ?
Yes our prices are the same on the internet or in our catalogue.

Why are the nails the same price ?
Nails are priced per Kg or 500g, so larger nails weigh more therefore the price remains the same but the qty is reduced 

Can you get other products ?
We have a vast product range, some products are not shown on the internet so it's always worth asking. We also welcome enquiries for associated lines such as Abrasives / Masks / Tape / Gloves etc

What is your delivery service like?
We are proud of our service and endeavour to get the right product to you at the right cost to you, This means using the best freight companies with worldwide tracking. 

Where can we see the products ?
Our online shop is usually the best bet as we are constantly adding new items, Samples can be bought this is better done by phone so we can discuss the size of the project and answer any initial questions.

What is the delivery time for products ?
We know which products are the fast moving lines so they are constantly in stock, Electrics can take 2~3 weeks, Brionne items may be around 1 month from date of order - this could be a little longer during French holidays, if we have a problem with the supply of a particular item you will be notified of the delay or offered an alternative product.

How do I care for my waxed products ?
All waxed products are designed for use inside or away from the elements. For outside our coated range of products are needed. Your waxed products just require a clean with  a dry cloth and periodically apply beeswax or a light oil.

Do you have a showroom ?
Our website is our showroom, we can show you products at our office and discuss your requirements all we ask is to arrange this prior to your visit as we could be out at clients etc.

Can we supply PHG?
Why not! We welcome new suppliers to contact us, please drop us an email and we will log your company as a prospective supplier, We look for excellent service & unique products - tell us why we should be a partner with your company.

Are hinges sold in pairs ?

Yes, all hinges are supplied in pairs, although if you needed 3 hinges we would sell them like that.  Minimum order for hinges is one complete pair.

Are latches supplied as complete working sets?

Yes, all latches are in complete working sets, the only additional item you might need would be a locking pin, this locks the latch so adds privacy for a bathroom, bedroom or toilet door.

Can you lock a suffolk latch?

Yes, if ordering the complete latch set you need to order the lock pin as an additional item.

Do all goods come with fixings?

Yes, All items purchased are supplied with fixings. Rustics products are supplied with rosehead nails, all other products are supplied with dome head slotted waxed screws or screws to suit the piece.

Will I get discount?

We pride ourselves on being very competitive on price, 9 times out of 10 we will match or better any competitors price on a like for like product.  Trade customer please contact us for bulk purchases.

How are curtain poles measured?

If you supply us with the overall measurement including finials we manufacture the pole to this length.

How are hinges measured?

Yorvik (Y part number), T Hinges Original iron and Rustic  ranges are measured from the pin to the end of the t-hinge. TH1 & HN1 range is the overall length of the hinge.

How long from ordering to receiving my order?

If goods are in stock we endeavour  to despatch within 24 hours, on standard carriage delivery takes 24 hour.  All delivery dates are given in good faith and not binding.  We aim to deliver all goods within 14 working days from order, but please allow up to 28 for some electrics, bespoke goods may take longer.

Do you stock a locking window catch?

Yes, when ordering please use this rule of thumb. If you are using your right hand to open the window catch then it's a right handed catch.

The WM range are reversable as the catch swivels so it can be used left or right.

Which nails should I use for securing flooring?

We recommend fine shank nails, please calculate the length by adding the thickness of your floorboards plus 1", thus allowing enough to secure into the joists.  When laying hardwood flooring it is recommended that you pilot drill before fixing nails.

Do products come with a guarantee?

Yes, products are guaranteed for 12 months from date of invoice, this excludes bespoke goods, however goods are only guaranteed if they have been installed & used correctly

Can I purchase goods over a period of time?

All designs are liable to alterations as the majority of our goods are handmade.  If you require all goods to be the same please ensure you purchase all goods needed for your project in one go.

 How long is my quotation valid for?

Quotations are valid for 14 days from date given, quotations are given for complete orders as detailed.  If only part of the goods in the quotation are required this will affect any discounts given.

Do you send samples?

All samples must be returned to us within 7 days for a refund, after that time a credit note will be issued.  To purchase a sample product you must inform sales staff at the time of purchase and a sample purchase invoice will be issued.

 

 

 

Shipping

Carriage charges are for  a 24 hour sevice this applies to orders ex stock or from 12 hours after goods received at PHG.

Carriage is for uk mainland excluding Scotish Highlands.

 Carriage for non mainland UK is by quotation, part order carriage is charged at full rate.

Orders must be placed before 12 noon, for next day service (based on goods in stock). Orders after 12 noon may be sent same day if possible.

  

Returns

Goods will not be accepted for return without prior agreement.

Returns should be made within 7 days of delivery.

All carriage charges are the responsibility of the purchaser unless the goods are inspected and are deemed to be faulty.

A minimum 10% restocking fee will be deducted and any further costs may be added if the goods are not in a resaleable condition, only a credit note will be issued for returns.

When returning goods to us please make sure they are insured as we will not accept responsibility for lost or damaged items.
